Cricket World Cup 2019 – Crown Cricket Ka Madam Ji Hum Lejayenge! #WorldCup2019

Cricket’s biggest ever challenge is all set to begin in just 48 hours – Cricket World Cup 2019

Oh Yes, my favourite sporting event is here and that’s the Cricket World Cup 2019. Always has got some special things up its sleeves is the Cricket World Cup. While there have been numerable changes in the number of teams playing in the tournament, there have been plenty of upsets and surprises for us.

India’s 1983 World Cup victory itself was a shocker to the cricketing world and thus giving birth to Cricket Frenzy nation India. Next, India’s shock exit from the 1996 World Cup and Sri Lanka’s big victory. Australia’s continuous domination for three World Cups before India could win the title for the 2nd time in 2011 on India’s own soil. South Africa’s infamous title of Knock Out stage chokers. The New Zealanders – Kiwis were so near yet so far from winning the World Cup. But the biggest surprise of all is England failing to win even a single world cup being the birthplace for cricket and hosting the world cup for 4 times before this world cup season

The debate on how many teams to play the world cup and the nature of the tournament is always there. 2019 World Cup has got a different format. In this year’s format, every team play the opposite team and that way each team get to play 9 matches. Normally, that’s the number of matches that a team would play in a 3-month tournament. So this will be a long one for teams. We all await excellent and competitive cricket matches.

Let’s look at the Top Captains and the most probable semi-finalist:

1. Australia – Not the same team from the last world cup and also not the same team in last 1 year. This team has gone on an expedition from one pole to another and are at the right pole just before the tournament. Steven Smith and Warner are also back in the team and Aaron Finch & Aussies love it. One of the top Favourites to win.

2. England – The team with no World Cup title are giving the highest chances of winning the title this time around. Every cricket pandit is giving England the top favourite tag. Team has been in excellent form even in the recent series against Pakistan. Great all-rounders, home conditions, perfect XI are the positives for England.

3. India – Crown Cricket ka Lejayenge. India reached the finals of CT2017 which happened in England only to lose to Pakistan. India since then has been monumental in their build-up to the mega tournament and have won the highest number of away matches under captaincy of Virat Kohli. Our skipper Virat has 74% winning rate in away matches highest by any Indian captain. India is clear favourites. Best Bowler, Best Batsman and then we have MSD!!

4. Pakistan – I don’t know why but this Pakistan team has got nothing to challenge any top team this World Cup, but still I would place my last penny on them, because of the unpredictability factor that lies high with the team Pakistan. Pakistan is known for coming back strong and winning the matches, the team is not great and there are gaps in both batting and bowling, But as I say, we can’t say anything about this team.

Note: If not Pakistan, I am looking at South Africa to be the fourth team who can make it to Semi-Finals.

Conclusion: Let the fun begin and let the best team win. For Indians, it’s the next best entertainment after IPL and Elections. Let’s hope that we are champions for the 3rd time. That’s the best gift that we can give to the great MSD for whom this is definitely going to be the last World Cup.
