  1. K Balachander – The Karta of South Indian Cinema, K Balachander is the reason why we are now famous around the world. His distinct film making talking about the social matters won him applauds in his movies. He was instrumental in building Super stars of South India like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. Career spanning more than years Balachander has shot movies in South Indian languages. Telugu actors like Chiranjeevi, Jayapradha and Jaya Sudha are all the finds of Balachander. For this he is placed 29th in the list of 70!

 

  1. Aamir Khan – Aamir Khan is best known as an actor, but he is also a producer, anchor, producer and director. He is now the most popular and inspiring actors in Indian Industry. Mr. Perfectionist as he is famously called by public always plays with so much dedication and gets into the role completely. His out of the world acting gave us the big hit movies like Lagaan, PK and Dangal. His activities in helping people from various community of people makes him the Special actor. His acting is the reason and why we have hits like Ghajini, Dangal and PK. Satyamev Jayateprogram conducted by him has given us so many lessons to learn.

 

  1. MF Hussain – Maqbool Fida Husain is an Indian artist known for executing bold, vibrantly coloured narrative paintings in a modified style. He was one of the most celebrated and internationally recognized Indian artists of the 20th century. He is the biggest and most talented Artist that India can ever ask for. His habit painting became his passion and profession. His paintings were liked by people all over the world and are present in Art Galleries of countries. Husain is known as the “Picasso of India,” One of his best-known paintings, commonly known as “Bharatmata” or “Mother India,” depicted a bright red nude woman contorted into the shape of the Indian subcontinent. This led to his life time ban from India.

 

  1. RD Burman – 32nd in my list is Rahul Dev Burman can be termed as the soul of Indian Music. RD Burman is the biggest ever music composer that India has ever produced. He holds the brand for one complete era. His music is delight to ears. He had served his career spanning over 30 years in the Industry. Every movie that was released in 1970’s to 1990’s included either composition or singing by RD Burman. He gave hits like O mere dil ke chain, Chura Liya Hai Tum ne etc to his last movie 1942 a love story where every song is a master piece!

 

  1. Bal Thackeray – Balasaheb Thackeray is the top influencing politician who became world famous for his ideology. He is a right-wing person who started a party called Shiv Sena. Shiv sena here means the followers of Chatrapathi Sivaji. He is the person behind the formation of Maharashtra state and fought for the rights of Maharashtrians in Mumbai. He was instrumental in driving away Gujaratis from Mumbai city, and from then on Shiv sena is a flag bearer of Marathi culture in Maharashtra. Bal Thackery was the Lion of Mumbai and continued to hold the city in his fists till the last breath. He is my 33rd ranker in 70!

 

  1. Ram Manohar Lohia – Ram Manohar Lohia is the reason why countries like China and Russia are growing and doing very good. Lohia is a freedom fighter cum politician. He is a socialist person and was part of Congress. He quit congress in early 1950s he quit congress because of his differences with Nehru and started his own Socialist party. He was a socialist with a 80% mix of communism and 20% capitalism. His socialism later became the way for China and Russia which are following the same today. He was an author and an inspirer who inspired a generation of politicians from UP and Bihar. His socialist party was the main opposition party when he died in 1967, being in power in 9 states. He is 34th in my list.

 

  1. Amartya Sen – Amartya Sen is the economist and a household name in India. Amartya Sen is an economist who is famous for his contributions to welfare economics, social justice, economic theories and the issues like poverty and famines in Third World Countries. He is also the first Indian economist to win the Nobel Prize and Bharat Ratna. His research is majorly distributed in the areas of social justice topics and on poverty. For the work he has done in developmental economics and poverty Amartya sen is 35th in the list of 70!
