  1. Jayalalitha Jayaraman: The Iron Lady of Madras!
    Actress and Politician Jayalalitha’s story is filled with awe and intrigue! She had a 30 year “special relationship” with Sasikala, to whom she left every rupee of her multi crore property. I don’t think anybody would ever do such thing for anyone!! Started as a child artist, she ventured into Tamil films in 1960s and took the industry by storm! 119 silver jubilee hits out of 125 films she acted!! A record! She was the highest paid South Indian actress for 15 long years! A chief minister who made “Amma” the brand of Tamilnadu lives in the heart and minds of every Tamilian is 36th in my list!

 

  1. SP Balasubramanian: The Gana Gandharva!
    S.P.B. is more amazing person than his musical talent. He is a playback singer who has started his career all the way back in 1965. He is a legendary singer who is creating many more singers. SPB lent his voice to Salman Khan and gained huge popularity for his fantastic singing. He won numerous awards and the one special thing in his life is creating Guinness World Record for recording highest number of songs. His singing is treat to ears and created magic from the 1970’s and still lives on. Apart from singing he is also known for his acting and music composition! One rare singer who broke the North-South barrier and gained popularity in Mumbai and South!

 

  1. Kamal Haasan: The acting genius who showed his “vishwaroopam” in a style of “Panchatantram” which makes us to exclaim “Hey Ram”! He is an “Indian” who is a true “Nayakan” who could even do a “Chachi 420” and “Sati leelavati” in the same breath! Kamal Hassan the genius known for his classy acting and inspiration to millions in South India. His acting is perfect and his creativity unmatched! Married many times, his life is a journey with many women be it Vani Ganapathi, Sarika or Simran or Gautami. This personality who is contemplating a political entry hoping to rule Tamilnadu is my 38th Indian in the list of 70!

 

  1. Illayaraja: The Legendary Musician!
    Illayaraja himself is an Era. The Indian Musical industry has seen so many songs and music coming out from Illayaraja. His creativity is amazing and that’s how we have seen him using any kind of instrument to bring out a tune. His music talent won him the greatest music composer of India which was declared by a poll conducted celebrating 100 years of Indian Cinema. The Maestro as he is called by the fans all over the world has composed music for over 1000 films. The Instrumentalist in him keeps him at 39th Position.

 

  1. Dhyaan Chand: The Wizard!
    The first Indian player to win Gold Medal for India in Olympics. Dhyaan Chand was into Army before he joined India Hockey Team and won 3 Olympic Gold medals scoring goals like nine pins in his reign. He is known famously as ‘The Wizard’ thanks to his outstanding goal scoring feats. A video is also available which shows that he played Hockey all through barefooted which even bamboozled the might Adolf Hitler. Even after his retirement he continued to be part of the game by coaching the Indian Hockey Team. Number 40 is no less to him!

 

  1. KJ Yesudas: The Classical singer from Kerala!
    Yesudas is the musician who is known for his Devotional and Classical songs. He has recorded more than lakh songs. He is the one singer who has taken Indian music to different level. Coming from Kerala he has received so many awards and honors for his musical charisma. Even now we can find his songs are the one’s played on each devotional event in Kerala. Harivarasanam is that one song which any Sabrimala Devotees will appreciate. For this he was made the “court singer” of Kerala. His musical journey also took Malayalam and India to the World Stage and deserves place in top 70 at 41st.

 

  1. Sanjeev Kumar: The Thakur from Sholay!
    Sanjeev Kumar is the famous Indian actor who had won several National Film awards for his versatile acting. Sanjeev Kumar is not any other actor he is one of the very creative person and always looked for versatile roles in movies of different genres. Movies like Angoor, Pati Patni aur Woh are the two best movies by Sanjeev Kumar. His attitude towards acting and openness to act in any role with passion keeps inspiring people and that why I place him at 42nd.
