The 3rd Avatar of Sri Maha Vishnu is Varaha – A Boar that saves Earth from clutches of Pathal Loka.

Lord Saraswathi’s entry to Bhu Loka had brought both knowledge and wealth to Manavas. This we have seen extensively in my last post. Things started to move in the right direction for Manavas. Sri Maha Vishnu’s punishment in a way was acting as a catalyst to stop Devathas from ruling ruthlessly.

The Great Rise of Manavas – Mortal Rakshasas eye Bhu Loka

The journey of Manavas had begun with Manu as their first King. Two clans were rising with popularity. Namely Suryavansh and Chandravansh. Interestingly Lord Rama is the 62nd Suryanvanshi King.

Though Manu was the first king, he had no powers. Slowly, people started engaging in activities. Trade activities picked up and evolution of monetary transactions boomed. This exchanges led to the creation of power.

Rakshasas were deeply hurt by Vishnu gifting immortality to Devathas. With Manavas gaining both knowledge and wisdom, Rakshasas couldn’t see their growth. They felt unhappy and lost. They wanted to dominate Manavas. Rakshasas were known for curtailing freedom of others and snatch wealth had laid out a plan to hit Manavas. But, there was a connection established between Manavas and Devathas. Every time Manavas were pushed into trouble, Devathas had come for their rescue.

The story that built connection in Devas and Manavas

Devathas are not part of the human kingdom but they started recognising Manushya. The link got established between Manavas and Devathas only because of Varaha Avatar. Devathas got stronger by time and killed many rakshasas. Manavas continued to learn and gain spiritual wisdom. Devathas were the indisputable ones in all the three Lokas.

The time had come for Vishnu to redeem his Maya. He used Jaya and Vijaya to teach a lesson to the people of all the three lokas. Jaya and Vijaya were born as Hiranyaksh and Hiranya Kashyap in their first life. Dithi knew that Devathas were immortal and wanted her sons to somehow achieve immortality. She asks sons to pray to Lord Brahma and ask for powers.

Relations wise, Brahma is the Grand Father of two. Maharishi Kashyap is the son of Brahma and that’s how his two sons are grandsons of Lord Brahma. Dithi says Brahma wouldn’t say no for your wishes. Both of them do Tapasya. We will be today talk only about Hiranyaksha’s life. Brahma appears after getting impressed by Hiranyaksha’s Tapasya, aks what does he want?

Hiranyaksha asks for immortality. But Brahma denies.

Brahma says it’s not in my hands, only Sri Maha Vishnu can bless anyone with immortality. Hiranyaksha thinks and asks the following: I should not be killed by Wild Animals, Devathas or Manushyas who take birth. Hiranyaksha thinks everybody in this world needs to take birth. Thus he thinks he indirectly got immortality. Though technically he is mortal, he is protected by the boon of Brahma.

Hiranyaksha fires up and creates havoc in Bhu Loka. He starts looting, killing and extracts the entire wealth of Manavas. He doesn’t stop here, he moves up to Swarga Loka. His ruthless and merciless attitude disturbed the entire Human race and Devathas.

Finally, he reaches Amaravathi and attacks Lord Indra. With no sweat, Hiranyaksha defeats Indra. Indra is helpless, as he cannot kill Hiranyaksha. After getting defeated, Hiranyaksha orders Indra to leave. Hesitating but afraid of agony and slave life, Indra runs to Bhu Loka and hides there. The situation of Devathas and Manushyas on Bhu Loka has now got worse.

Bhu Devi comes to rescue but Hiranyaksha is too strong to get defeated

Maharishis pray Brahma for restoring harmony and peace. But while the prayers are on, Hiranyaksha knows about it. He runs to Bhu Loka to hunt them. All devathas are hiding in the Himalayan region and are located in Uttarakhand. This place was considered as Dev Bhumi. Bhu Devi is the one safeguarding Bhu Loka but Hiranyaksha succeeds in defeating the devathas once again and imprisons everyone in Pathala Loka. Bhu Loka is nothing but Earth, so understand that Bhu Loka was entirely captured and locked in Pathala Loka.

Maharishis continue to pray and Brahma directs them to Vishnu. Knowing the conditions and boons presented to Hiranyaksha, Vishnu takes the avatar of Varaha. Then from the nostrils of Brahma Varaha comes down. Varaha is a boar, not a wild animal and lives on grass. The moment Varaha drops from nostrils of Brahma, it becomes big.

That’s the reincarnation of the third avatar of Sri Maha Vishnu. Filled with vengeance Varaha goes straight to Pathala Loka. Boar using its tusks lifts the earth that’s hidden in the Pathala Loka. Varaha then carries it and starts the journey back to Bhu Loka.

Annoyed Hiranyaksha runs behind Varaha chasing him. But Varaha so fast that Hiranyaksha cannot capture it. He puts earth back into the place and rescues Devathas. The battle then begins between Devathas and Hiranyaksha’s army. With the same tusks, Varaha kills Hiranyaksha putting an end to Jaya’s first rebirth.

“Union of Bhu Devi and Sri Maha Vishnu”

Bhu Devi gets inspired by Varaha’s act of helping her a Devathas. Bhu Devi then gets married to Sri Maha Vishnu. Unlike Lakshmi, Bhu Devi is a Human i.e Manava. Whereas Lakshmi is a goddess. This union of Sri Maha Vishnu and Bhu Devi creates a connection between Devathas and Manavas. Automatically Bhu Devi also becomes a goddess. Thus, from then on, whenever Manavas are in trouble due to Rakshasas, Sri Maha Vishnu, who is also called Bhupathi, the husband of Bhu Devi comes to the rescue of Manavas and protects us from Rakshasas. Thus Sri Maha Vishnu becomes our protector.
